Dropbox is definitely the wrong tool for this - you'll find yourself running in to all sorts of weird problems very quickly if you attempt to use it this way.

If you want a tool that helps with instant feedback pair programming, take a look at a collaborative text editor such as SubEthaEdit for OS X http://www.codingmonkeys.de/sube... or one of the web based equivalents such as HackPad.
