My answer to Is Portland, OR a good location for a major content strategy conference? on Quora

I can't comment on the relevance to Content Strategy, but having been to both OSCON and DjangoCon in Portland a few times I think it's an absolutely superb city for hosting a conference.

Good facilities, a free tram service that covers the main venues and hotels, superb food, small enough to be walkable but large enough to deal with a large number of conference delegates - and it's a great city in its own right hence a desirable destination for potential attendees.

I live in London, but Portland is probably my favourite US city for attending a conference. I can't wait to get back there - in fact I liked it so much I took my wife there for our wedding anniversary.

It looks like there will be at least one Content Strategy related conference in Portland next year though - LavaCon 2012 is set to take place in October: http://lavacon.org/portland/ and http://lanyrd.com/2012/lavacon/
